Former table tennis star Zobera Rahman Linu and veteran sports organiser Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol have been named as the brand ambassadors of the Velociti 15K Run 2025 event, to be held at the Hatirjheel Circle in the city on September 13.
Velociti, a newly established sports event management platform, is organising the event in collaboration with the Bangladesh Athletics Federation. The aim is to enhance youth engagement in sports while also involving both former and current athletes, as well as organisers.
There will be three distance categories 鈥� 15km, 7.5km, and 1km 鈥� of running events, starting from Amphitheatre Point of Hatirjheel Circle.
Men, women and students are all open to participate in the 15km and 7.5km categories, while only kids aged from 5 to 12 will be allowed to participate in the 1km category.
So far, 5,000 enthusiasts have registered to participate in the inaugural edition of this event, which offers prize money of Tk 7,000, Tk 5,000, and Tk 4,000 for the top three finishers in the 15 km and 7.5 km runs, respectively.
Linu was introduced as the brand ambassador for the women鈥檚 event, while Chapol was introduced for the men鈥檚 event during a press conference at a city hotel on Saturday. Later on, Linu and Chapol unveiled event jerseys for the run.
