
The Border Guard Bangladesh on Wednesday destroyed drugs worth over Tk 1,321 crore seized in anti-narcotics operations conducted by the BGB battalions under the Cox鈥檚 Bazar region.
On Wednesday morning, Yaba, crystal meth, heroin, cocaine, hemp, opium, beer, various types of liquor, Phensidyl and others were destroyed in a programme at the training ground of Cox鈥檚 Bazar battalion under the management of BGB鈥檚 Ramu sector, said a press release on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning that the battalions under the Cox鈥檚 Bazar region conducted anti-drug operations in border areas and other places and were able to seize a total of 2,216 crore taka of drugs including 2,693 accused.
Out of this, the arrested drug dealers along with drugs worth 895 crore 3 lakh 73 thousand taka were handed over to the police station and drugs worth 1,321 crore 90 lakh 59 thousand 116 taka were destroyed on Wednesday.
