Bangladesh Medical University at a ceremony on Thursday launched the online appointment service for its radiology and imaging department.

BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam inaugurated the service as the chief guest at the F Block of the university, said a press release.


The services aimed at easing patients’ suffering and reduce overcrowding, allowing patients to schedule diagnostic tests, including CT scans, MRIs, ultrasonograms, X-rays and contrast X-rays, without having to wait in long queues.

BMU treasurer Professor Dr Nahrin Akhtar attended as special guest at the event, which was chaired by BMU’s radiology and imaging department chairman Professor Dr Habiba Khatun.

Professor Habiba Khatun mentioned that currently, 50 per cent of the department’s diagnostic tests could be booked online and it will expand to 100 per cent in phases.
