The seven-day group art exhibition titled ‘Echoes of Time’, under way at the Nalinikanta Bhattasali Gallery of the Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka, showcases paintings paying tribute to the July Uprising.

The exhibition, organised by Art Fluent, a contemporary visual artists group, in collaboration with the museum, comprises 176 artworks, mostly paintings by 47 renowned and young artists.


Besides, artists have displayed prints, installations and sculptures at the exhibition, which began on August 9.

Artists Abdus Satter, Azharul Islam Sheikh, Trivedi Gopal Chandra, Syed Mohammed Ali Pappu, Md Tanvirul Islam Mithu, Masudur Rahman, Habiba Akther Papia, Sohag Parvez, Shakera Rahman Khan, Tandra Mukherjee and Sonya Binta Hasan, among others, have displayed their artworks at the exhibition jointly curated by artists Shake Manir Uddin and Nasir Ahmed Khan.

Abdus Satter’s acrylic on canvas painting titled ‘One Saeed to Eternity, Countless Saeeds in Every House’ shows graffiti on walls.

Trivedi Gopal Chandra’s large mixed media on canvas painting titled ‘Traditional Painting’ depicts folk tales of Bangladesh with oriental motifs and symbols.

Masudur Rahman’s large acrylic and oil on canvas painting titled ‘Within the Torrent of Time’ shows the cosmic journey of humans.

Sohag Parvez’s charcoal on paper landscape artwork titled ‘Moheshkhali Mach Dhora-2’ depicts the life of a fisherman who works in the deep sea.

Shakera Rahman Khan’s acrylic on canvas abstract artwork titled ‘The Emotions’ shows human relationships and emotions.

Sonya Binta Hasan’s acrylic on canvas artwork titled ‘36 July’ depicts people’s sacrifice in the July Uprising.

The exhibition will end on Friday.
