
Police have arrested 30 people suspecting their suspected involvement in different crimes, including mugging in Karwan Bazar and adjacent areas in the capital in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
The drive was conducted as part of the nationwide special combing operation to maintain law and order situation.
The arrested were Md Jony, 27, Md Liton, 18, Md Sharif Molla, 40, Md Jamal, 50, Monir, Sohag Mia, 32, Nazmul, 19, Md Sakib, 20, Md Raimon, 26, Abdur Rahman, 19, Sohel Hossain, 21, Md tuhin, 18, Mehedi Hasan, 21, Arif Gazi, 23, Md Akash, 22, Khairul, Md Rubel, Md Muhin, Md Mithu, Naim Islam, Nazmul Hossain, Jony Islam, Md Sumon, Mamun Hasan, Md Ripon, Md Sujon, Md Faruk, Subel Mia, Shubho Kumar Das, and Sohan Gazi.
All of them were involved in mugging, drug addiction, stealing, robbery and other criminal activities, said deputy commissioner of DMP (media) Talebur Rahman.
The government launched a nationwide coordinated combing operation from July 13 in light of the prevailing law and order situation in the country.
