BEPZA executive chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman witnessed the signing ceremony.
Under this new project, the company will produce 18 million pairs of lingerie and undergarments and 20 million pairs of bra foam and bra cups annually, creating jobs for 3,003 Bangladeshi nationals.
Among others, BEPZA member (engineering) Md Imtiaz Hossain, member (finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, executive director (investment promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, executive director (enterprise services) Md Khorshid Alam and executive director (public relations) ASM Anwar Parvez attended the signing ceremony.聽
Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman welcomed Kaixi Group鈥檚 latest move, saying that its decision to expand just 14 months after starting operations showed growing confidence of foreign investors in the BEPZA, especially in BEPZA Economic Zone.聽
Speaking at the event, Xiao Hongxi highlighted some operational challenges, mentioning that the absence of nearby worker housing forces them to bring workers from distant locations, which delayed morning attendance.聽
Despite such challenges, he reaffirmed Kaixi鈥檚 commitment to Bangladesh and to BEPZA EZ.
Kaixi鈥檚 first project in BEPZA EZ, was sanctioned in November 2022 with an investment proposal of $60.85 million, began commercial production in June 2024 and currently employs about 3,700 workers. Together, their two existing factories-one in Dhaka EPZ and one in BEPZA EZ-have created jobs for approximately 6,000 workers, the release said.
