The newly appointed specialist batting coach Julian Wood has started to conduct a camp for the Bangladesh women鈥檚 national cricket team before joining the Tigers.听
According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the famed power-hitting coach has been contracted for nearly a month.听
Wood told 抖阴精品 that he would work with the women鈥檚 team until August 14 before joining the men鈥檚 team. The second camp would run from August 15 to September 3.听
The English coach, who has the experience of working in the Bangladesh Premier League, has recently worked with the Sri Lanka national women鈥檚 team.听
The Bangladesh women鈥檚 team is currently undergoing a fitness and skill camp at the BKSP.
They haven鈥檛 played a recognised game since April, when the qualifier for the World Cup was held.听
The Nigar Sultana Joty-led team qualified as the last team for the forthcoming World Cup scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka from September to November.
The BCB tried to manage a bilateral series for them in the vacant window but couldn鈥檛 manage a quality team.听
Meanwhile, another big appointment of the BCB, Tony Hemming, has already started to work as the new head of turf management.听
The Australian has returned to Bangladesh after resigning from the role of head curator of the Pakistan Cricket Board.听
Hemming left Bangladesh in the middle of his contract, citing a lack of work opportunities.
However, the arrival date of Englishman Alex Marshall, who has been appointed to improve the anti-corruption unit, has not been confirmed yet.听
The BCB said that they would work it out soon. They have a one-year contract with the former head of integrity of the ICC.听
