The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh will resume selling essential commodities through trucks at 25 points across Chattogram city from Sunday, after a three-month break, to provide essentials at affordable prices to low-income groups.
Sources at the TCB Chattogram regional office said that the corporation would sell daily necessities to low-income individuals at subsidised prices openly every day.
A Smart Family Cardholder can purchase five kilograms of rice at Tk 30 per kg, two litres of soybean oil at
Tk 100 per litre, two kilograms of lentils at Tk 60 per kg, and one kilogram of sugar at Tk 70 from a designated dealer by showing the card.
The total cost of these four items would be Tk 540, TCB sources added.
