The attack took place around 4:15pm near Dainik Bangla crossing in the capital city, when the officials were getting into their car, bank officials said.

The protesters suddenly surrounded the vehicle and beat HR head Amir Hossain.

Security guard Shahinur sustained critical injuries while trying to protect him. Police rescued three deputy managing directors (DMDs) from the scene, they said.

Over a hundred former staff members, armed with sticks, assaulted several security personnel who attempted to intervene.

The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital,
