Bangladesh were drawn in Group A of the AFC Under-17 Men’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers alongside hosts China, Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Timor-Leste and Sri Lanka on Thursday.

The 38 teams were divided into seven groups – three with six teams and four with five – and will play in the single round-robin league format across seven separate venues from November 22 to 30.

The group winners will progress to the final stage, where they will be joined by Qatar, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Tajikistan, the UAE, and Indonesia, all of whom have qualified automatically as the AFC representatives for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar 2025.

The 21st edition of the 16-team U-17 Asian Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia from May 7 to 24 in 2026.

Meanwhile, the junior women’s team has been pitted in Group H with Chinese Taipei and hosts Jordan.

The 27 teams are divided into eight groups – three of four teams each and five of three – and will participate in single-leg qualifiers at eight centralised venues from October 13 to 17.

The eight group winners will join the four AFC representatives who have automatically qualified for the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco 2025: North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China. This will create a 12-team line-up, which is an increase of four teams compared to the previous edition.

The 10th edition of the U-17 Women’s Asian Cup is scheduled to be held in China from 30 April to 17 May 2026.
