Under Dhaka Central University, the new university comprising the seven government colleges in the capital, will hold 40 per cent online classes and 60 per cent in-person classes.

The university will be comprised of four schools.


All students under the university will study non-major courses in the first four semesters and major courses in the next four semesters as per the discipline.

In the fifth semester the students can change discipline in condition.

The information were disclosed at a press conference held at the education ministry conference room at the Secretariat on Monday.

While reading a paper, Secondary and Higher Education Division acting secretary Md Mozibor Rahman said that the four schools are — school of sciences, school of arts and humanities, school of business studies and school of law and justice.

Classes of school of sciences will be held at Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College and Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College.

Classes of school of arts and humanities will be held at Mirpur Government Bangla College and classes of school of business studies will be held at Government Titumir College.

Classes of the school of law and justice will be held at Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College and Kabi Nazrul Government College.
