Unidentified assailants shot at a local businessman in Chattogram鈥檚 Chandgaon area and fled the scene on Friday night.
The victim, Md Yunus, sustained multiple bullet injuries and got admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, confirmed Chandgaon police station officer-in-charge Md Aftab Uddin.
Aftab said that the incident occurred at Uttar Mohara of Chandgaon at about 11:00pm while Yunus was entering his home. The attackers arrived on two motorcycles and opened fire on him before escaping. He was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the hospital, local people said.
According to local people, Yunus is involved in the dredging business and supply of sand extracted from rivers.
