The United States authorities on Saturday deported at least 39 Bangladeshis, including a woman, by a special flight on the allegation of staying in that country illegally.

A US Air Force C-17 flight landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport carrying 39 passengers at about 6:45am on Saturday, HSIA executive director Group Captain SM Ragib Samad told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.

According to HSIA officials, US on June 8 deported 19 Bangladeshis for the same reason after US president Donald Trump took over for the second term in January and launched a crackdown on migrants.

‘At least 61 Bangladeshis were scheduled to be deported this time. But we have seen that the US Air Force fight has brought 39 people,’ he added.

A Bangladesh foreign ministry official in Dhaka said that the ministry was informed of the deportation of Bangladeshis from the USA.
