The 22nd anniversary of death of Suraiya Begum, an associate professor of the department of information science and library management at the University of Dhaka, will be observed today.
She was wife of the late Tawfiq Aziz Khan, former executive editor of The Daily Star and renowned sports writer and commentator of the country, said a press release.
Her younger son, Taneem Aziz Khan, is managing editor of 抖阴精品.
Suraiya Begum was a life member of the Bangla Academy, Library Association of Bangladesh, Institute of Library Information and Management and the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.
She was also member of the Inner Wheel Club of Dhaka North West, an executive committee member of the Community Development Library and student adviser at the DU information science and library management department.
Relatives and friends are requested to pray for the salvation of her departed soul.
