The operations of Joar Sahara’s Eurozone Fashion Limited will resume its manufacturing activities on Tuesday morning, that is today, said the factory’s officials.
They also claimed the factory workers’ allegation of selling the factory as ‘rumour,’ which was spread to initiate an unusual situation at the factory.
Talking to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·, KG Morshed, managing director of Eurozone Fashion, confirmed that the factory would start its regular operation today.
‘The workers had some logical demands and we accepted those in presence of representatives from the labour department,’ he added.
He also stated that products worth $5 million were ready to ship and in this situation, he would not sell the factory.
‘Some vested interest groups spread rumour to destabilise operations, which led to an unusual situation. After discussing, we accepted logical demands of the workers and everything was normal,’ he added.
Based on the current situation, they declared Sunday and Monday as general holidays and the workers accepted this, he said.
Earlier on Monday, a group of agitated workers blocked the managing director in his office, claiming he was selling the factory without paying the workers.
Md Rakibul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Vatara Police Station, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that police along with army personnel rescued the owner of the factory around 5:00pm on the day.
‘There was a rumour that the factory might shut its operation and for this reason, the workers blockaded the owner,’ he added.
He also said that they then took the situation under control and the workers left the place peacefully and would join the workplace on Tuesday morning.  Speaking to ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·, Babul Akhter, president of IndustriALL Bangladesh Council, said that he had heard about the allegations made by the workers and instructed them to resolve the issues through discussion.
‘I urged them to sit with us for a discussion aiming to resolve the issues,’ he said.
Workers’ unrest was not new at Eurozone Fashion. In 2024, workers blocked Kuril Bishwa Road twice, in May and October, demanding arrears.
