The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday said that the next edition of the NCL T20 would be held across three venues.

The BCB organised the tournament for only local players to hone their skills ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League last year in two grounds of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

‘This time, it will be expanded. Last year the tournament was organised hurriedly,’ BCB’s chief programme coordinator Minhajul Abedin told reporters.

‘This time we chose three venues to host the second edition of the tournament. The tournament committee has already asked the grounds committee to select those three venues,’ he added.

The itinerary of the tournament is yet to be revealed, but it is highly likely to run from September 15 to October 4.

‘As far as I am concerned, the NCL T20 will start from the second week of September,’ said the former national team captain.

This time, it will be held before the draft of the BPL. So the players will get a platform to showcase their skills to attract the franchises.

A total of eight teams—seven divisional cities and Dhaka Metro—took part in last year’s tournament. Rangpur were crowned champions following their win over Metro in the final.
