A human chain was formed, demanding to protect Kodalkati union under Rajibpur from the Brahmaputra River erosion, in front of Kurigram Press Club on Thursday
More than two hundred people of the river basin areas of Kodalkati union participated in the human chain in Kurigram town, which is far from 62 kilometres of the union.
Member secretary of Char Development Committee of Rajibpur unit Aminur Rahman presided over the human chain.
Convener of Kurigram District CDC, retired assistant professor Shafikul Islam Bebu, and joint convener of district unit of BNP, retired assistant professor Hasibur Rahman Hasib, among others, spoke the event.
The speakers urged the government to protect the river erosion immediately.
Later, a memorandum was submitted to Kurigram deputy commissioner Nusrat Sultana.
