The Eastern University has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Open University, The Gambia.

Through this memorandum, it was decided to organise an international conference jointly by both universities at the Eastern University on October 25, said a press release on Friday.


Researchers and academicians from different countries of the world will get the opportunity to present their research work in this conference, exchanging global knowledge and experience and creating a field for new innovations, development guidelines and their implementation.

EU vice-chancellor Professor Farid Ahmed Sobhani was present at the ceremony. The MoU was signed by Professor Md Abbas Ali Khan, director of research and development, Eastern University; and Professor Afroza Bulbul, director of research and publications, International Open University, The Gambia.

The event was attended by deputy vice-chancellor of IOU, Professor Muhammad Ahsan from the United Kingdom and the head of the department of business administration, Professor Shafiqur Rahman from Australia, via Zoom platform.

The event was also attended by the treasurer, registrar, deans of various faculties, heads of departments and administrative officers of Eastern University.
