The Centre for Archaeological Studies and the department of General education of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh have jointly conducted a seminar titled Archaeological Tourism Development at the ULAB in Dhaka.

The seminar aligned with several sustainable development goals, including SDG 4, 8, 11, 12, and 17, said a press release on Thursday.


The seminar serves as an educational platform, empowering students, researchers and professionals in the cultural tourism sector with insight into archaeological tourism.

The contributions of keynote speaker Md Anowar Hossain Bhuiyan, associate professor and deputy director of the Innovation and Sustainability Lab at the National University, along with discussants Md Ataur

Rahman, deputy director, publications, department of archaeology, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Md Mazharul Islam, deputy director, statistics, research and planning, Bangladesh Tourism Board, reflects the government鈥檚 commitment to promoting lifelong learning and fostering a culture of innovation. 聽

Director of the ULAB鈥檚 Centre for Archaeological Studies and head of the department of general education, Professor Shahnaj Husne Jahan, presided over the seminar.

Heritage and tourism professionals and practitioners from Bangladesh, as well as ULAB students and faculty members, also participated in a question-and-answer session.
