A schoolboy drowned in a pond at Horin Singha village under Ramchandrapur union of Gaibandha Sadar upazila Thursday afternoon.
The deceased is Lam, 10, son of Abdus Salam of the village and a second grade student of SKS School and College in the district.
Family sources said that Lam jumped into a pond for taking bath after coming from school and went missing. After hectic searching, his body was recovered from the pond.
Panel chairman of the Union Parishad Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident.
