The High Court on Tuesday ordered a ban on flights of aircraft, including training planes, over all populated areas鈥攊ncluding Dhaka鈥攚ithin 45 days and instructed the education ministry to issue student ID cards with names, guardians' contact numbers, and blood groups.

The HC ordered the Bangladesh interim government to form a high-powered technical committee within seven days to investigate aircraft accidents and identify defective aircraft.


The bench of Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Sayed Jahed Mansur asked the government to submit monthly compliance reports.

The court issued the directive in response to a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Anisur Rahaman Raihan, following the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft into a building of Milestone School and College on Monday.

The crash killed at least 31 people and injured hundreds.

The court also directed the government to bear all medical expenses of the injured鈥攂oth at home and abroad.

Additionally, the court asked the government to explain why it should not pay Tk 5 crore to each family of the deceased and Tk 1 crore to each injured person.
