
Mahinur Akhter Mim, a student of the Institute of Education and Research, has become champion of the debate competition organised by the Dhaka University’s Roquiah Hall.
Marjan Binte Aminullah, a student of the department of law, became the runner-up, and Samia Zaman Mahi, a student of the department of world religions and culture, became the 2nd runner-up of the competition,
Dhaka University pro-vice-chancellor Professor Mamun Ahmed was present as chief guest and handed over awards to the winners at a function in the hall auditorium on Saturday evening, said a press release on Sunday.
Presided over by Roquiah Debate Competition president Mayisha Maliha, provost of the hall Professor Hosne Ara Begum, Roquiah Debate Competition moderator Deepa Sarkar and Dhaka University Debating Society general secretary Ragib Anjum spoke as special guests at the award distribution ceremony.
The programme was moderated by Roquiah Debate Competition general secretary Nazia Sultana Mumu.
Mamun Ahmed emphasised on increasing the knowledge of students through debate practice, saying, ‘The university administration always encourages such co-curricular activities.’
