
A discussion titled Anti-HBC Total Positive鈥揅onception and Misconception was held at the Hepatology department of Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka on Saturday.
Specialist physicians, residents and hepatologist from the department participated in the discussion, said a press release.
BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam, also chairman of the department of hepatology, also attended the discussion.
The session featured a detailed digital presentation by Dr Saurabh Kumar Chakraborty on the clinical significance of the anti-HBc total report and common misconceptions related to it, which was joined by experts from different parts of the world via Zoom.
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session where several topics were discussed, with participants from both at home and abroad contributing by asking various questions.
The organisers have expressed their interest in conducting such events regularly in the future, so that more accuracy and awareness can be ensured in healthcare.
Profesoor Dr Ayub Al Mamun, associate professor Dr Mahbubul Alam Prince, and associate professor Dr Md Saiful Islam Elin, among others of the department of hepatology, were present at the event.
