Dhaka University vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan met the chief adviser Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna in Dhaka on Tuesday evening.

The DU VC met the chief adviser as part of his regular briefing on the overall affairs of the university, said a press release on Wednesday.


Niaz Ahmed informed the chief adviser about the progress of the activities of the election commission formed for the DUCSU elections, the overall security situation of the university campus, education and research activities, the progress of various development projects and various steps taken recently for the welfare of students.

The vice-chancellor sought the cooperation of the chief adviser in expediting the work of major projects awaiting approval from ECNEC, including the construction of various halls and facilities of the university.

In addition, he sought the cooperation of the chief adviser in increasing government grants to further accelerate and strengthen the university鈥檚 research activities.

The VC ALSO sought the presence of the chief adviser in the possible convocation of Dhaka University.

Muhammad Yunus expressed satisfaction with the overall situation, including the development of education and research at the university, and assured all possible cooperation in the development of education and research at the university.
