A workshop titled Strategy for Preparing Competitive Project Proposals was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Under the World Bank-supported Higher Education and Research Initiative project for the development of higher education in Bangladesh, RUET vice-chancellor Professor SM Abdur Razzak inaugurated the workshop as chief guest, said a press release on Monday.


The VC said that the HEAT project would bring revolutionary change in research and higher education, creating opportunities for RUET teachers to compete in the global arena.

The workshop was organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell.

Professor Md Imdadul Haque, director of IQAC, chaired the workshop, and the resource persons were Professor Md Niamul Bari, department of civil engineering, Professor Md Shahid Uz Zaman, department of computer science and engineering and Professor Abdul Khalek, department of electrical and electronic engineering. The programme was moderated by Tasnuva Humaira, section officer of IQAC.

The workshop discussed in detail the structure of the HEAT project, research proposal preparation, grant-receiving rules and skill development activities at the university level.
