Director general of the Border Guard Bangladesh, Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, inaugurated the BGB’s weeklong Tree Plantation Campaign 2025 by planting a Bakul tree sapling at the BGB headquarters at Pilkhana in Dhaka on Thursday.

After inaugurating the tree plantation campaign, the BGB director general said that through the student-led mass uprising in July–August in the past year, a new time had come to take the country forward and build the country, said a press release.

For that purpose, various forces of the country and people from all walks of life are trying to build the country in a new way, he said.

The BGB DG also prayed for the eternal peace of all the people killed in the July Uprising and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The theme of this year’s national tree plantation campaign is ‘planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh’.

Highlighting the theme, the BGB director general urged to plant trees in the right places at all BGB establishments across the country, including the headquarters.
