An unidentified woman died on a footpath in Shahbagh area of Dhaka Wednesday morning.
According to Shahbagh police station, the woman, believed to be around 42 years old, was found lying unconscious beside a metro rail pillar in front of聽 鈥楽hikkha Bhaban鈥� at around 10:00am.
She was immediately taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead at 10:30am.
The body was kept at hospital morgue for autopsy, said sub-inspector Lablu Ahmed of Shahbagh police station who brought the woman to the hospital.
鈥楶olice are working to ascertain the identity of the deceased,鈥� he said.
