Thirty-two forthcoming films have received government grants for the 2024-25 financial year.

In this regard, the information and broadcasting ministry issued a gazette on Monday.


The films will receive a total of Tk聽13 crore under different categories.

Twelve forthcoming full-length films, including one in the children鈥檚 category, one in documentary, one in political history, one in cultural history and eight in the general category, have received grants.

Besides, twenty films in the short film category have got grants.

Each full-length film will receive Tk 75 lakh and each short-film will receive Tk 20 lakh, said the gazette.

This year, the gazette mentioned only the producer names and their film projects, which created controversy on social media, as in the previous year the ministry also mentioned the director names.

In the full-length film category Jaganmay Pal-produced forthcoming film Robinhooder Ashcharya Abhijan, Labib Nazmus Shakib-produced Mayer Daak, Mahmudul Islam-produced July, Ahmed Hasan Sunny-produced Ruher Kafela, Singkhanu Marma-produced Porotar Swad, Syed Saleh Ahmed Sobhan-produced Khoyari , M Alvi Ahmed-produced Jibon Opera, Golam Sohrab Dodul-produced Jolojuddho, Mushfiqur Rahman-produced Kabir Mukh-The Time Keeper, Anusheh Anadil-produced Coffiner Dana, Mst Sahiba Mahbub-produced Nawab Fozunnesa and Sujon Mahmud-produced Jui will receive Tk 75 lakh each.

From 190 full-length film projects, the primary selection committee this year selected 95 film projects for final selection. From them, 12 films received the government grant.

Of the 140 entries received in the short film category, the authorities selected 20 projects for the grant.
