Suborna Barua has been elected chairman of Republic Insurance Company Limited during the company鈥檚 159th board meeting, said a press release.
In the meeting, SM Shafiul Hoque was re-elected vice-chairman.
Suborna also serves as an independent director of the company and Shafiul as a sponsor director.
Suborna Barua is a full-time professor at Dhaka University鈥檚 international business department.
He was chairman of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh and ICB Asset Management Company Limited.
SM Shafiul Hoque is chairman of Integral Apparels Limited and director of Choice Group of Industries. He is former vice-president of the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
