
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC on Saturday organised a seminar on ‘Female Participation in Financial Sector and Female Right,’ said a press release.
Managing director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over the event held at the bank’s Uttara branch in Dhaka.
Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Inclusion Department director Md Iqbal Mohasin was present as chief guest.
About 40 female participants from the bank’s different branches attended the seminar. Among others, deputy managing director and CRO MM Saiful Islam, risk management division EVP Mohammed Abu Shayem and Uttara branch manager Mohammad Abu Hanif were present.
The speakers of the seminar mainly focused on the importance of women in participating financial sector side by side with male. Present status of gender equality and female right was also highlighted in the programme. It was opined that there was no alternative to female financial literacy for development of Bangladesh.
