Technical director of the Bangladesh Football Federation Saiful Bari Titu hinted on Tuesday that some expatriate players are expected to get call-ups for the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers camp starting later this month.Ìý

‘We will have camp for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers in late July. You may see some of the expatriate players there,’ said Titu, whose contract with BFF has been extended till December 2025.Ìý


Titu was appointed as the BFF technical director for one year in March 2024 before his tenure was extended for three more months in April this year. ÌýHis latest extension came into effect on Tuesday. ÌýÌý

Titu hinted at potential call-ups shortly after the conclusion of a three-day trial, known as ‘BFF Next Global Star’. This trial, which was conducted for the first time by the BFF, focused on Bangladeshi-origin expatriate footballers and took place at the National Stadium in Dhaka.Ìý

A total of 49 players from 14 countries across the world came to Bangladesh with their own expenses and went through the trial in a festive mood, but the BFF are yet to disclose their final report of the selection.Ìý

‘It’s a long-time process. We will remain in touch with them. Players aged between 18 and 19 have the capacity of improving. The coaches will go through the players’ data that we received from this trial for the forthcoming age-level tournament camps,’ Titu told the press at the BFF.
