An unidentified youth was killed in a road accident in Tejgaon of the city in the early hours of Sunday.
Sub-inspector Badsha of Tejgaon Police Station, who was on patrol duty at the time, said his team rushed to the scene upon receiving information and found the victim, aged about 22, lying on the road after being injured in a apparently in a motorbike crash.
He was immediately taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 3:50am where doctors declared him dead, SI Badsha said.
The body has been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
Police are trying to determine the cause of the accident and know the identity of the victim, SI Badsha said.
