A family dispute over ancestral land at Kazipur under Gangni in Meherpur erupted into violence on Friday evening, which injured six family members.
The injured are Yunus Ali, 70, his wife Zainab Ara, 60, and their son Hasanuzzaman, 31, Mohsin Ali, 80, his wife Hanufa, 65, and their son Ripon Hossain, 30.
Yunus Ali alleged that his elder brother, Mohsin Ali, was attempting to forcibly occupy his land. When they protested, Mohsin Ali, along with his wife and son, reportedly attacked them.
Due to the severity of Yunus Ali鈥檚 injuries, he was referred to Kushtia Medical College Hospital by Gangni Upazila Health Complex Medical Officer Dr MK Reza.
Both are reportedly preparing to file cases regarding the incident.
