One dengue patient died and 262 were hospitalised in country in the past 24 hours till Saturday morning.
During the period, 141 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division (out of city corporation) while 40 were hospitalised in Chattogram, 18 in Dhaka division, eight in Dhaka North City Corporation, 40 in Dhaka South City Corporation, three聽 in Sylhet division and six in Mymensingh division, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.
The number of cases rose to 9,484 while 41 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, have been so far reported this year.
In the past year, the number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
