The 11th anniversary of death of poet Abul Hussain will be observed today, said a press release.
Born in Khulna on August 15, 1922, Abul Hussain studied at Kolkata Presidency College and Kolkata University in economics.
Abul Hussain鈥檚 works reflect his lifelong search to find a philosophical and religious position that has allowed him to analyse and try to understand individual lives in relation to society. He also spoke about the political instability and economic uncertainty of the country.
Abul Hussain鈥檚 debut collection of poem was published under the header 鈥楴aba Basanta鈥�. His literary works include 鈥楤irash Sanglap鈥�, 鈥楧uhswapna Theke Duhswapne鈥�, 鈥楬aoa Tomar Ki Duhsahas鈥�, 鈥楨khono Samay Achhe鈥�, 鈥楢ar Kisher Apeksha, 鈥楰aler Khatay鈥�.
Abul Hussain鈥檚 literary works earned him national and international awards.
He also represented the country at literary festivals and conferences in India, Belgium, former Yugoslavia and the former USSR.
Abul Hussain was honoured many awards, including Ekushey Padak, Bangla Academy Literary Award and Padabali Award.
The poet passed away on June 29, 2014.
