The Fire Service and Civil Defence on Wednesday conducted firefighting, rescue, first aid and evacuation drills at Uttara Centre and Bijay Sarani of Dhaka Metro Rail.
Various equipment, including water tender, pump carrying tender, scissor lift, ambulance and snorkel vehicle were used in the drill, said a press release.
In case of a sudden fire accident in metro rail or metro rail station, how to protect passengers, how to extinguish the fire, how to evacuate the common people and how to send the injured to the hospital after providing first aid was shown in the drill.
Along with the Fire Service and Civil Defence, metro rail security personnel and local volunteers of fire service participated in the drill.
AKM Khairul Alam, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited鈥檚 director for administration, delivered a speech while Fire Service and Civil Defence鈥檚 Dhaka division deputy director Md Saleh Uddin briefed the journalists.
The two drills were conducted by Kazi Nazmuzzaman, assistant director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Dhaka.
