The Bangladesh Bridge Authority will carry out routine maintenance works at the Karnaphuli Tunnel from 11:00pm to 5:00am on June 26, 27, 28, and 29.
A press release, issued by the BBA under the road transport and bridges ministry on Wednesday, also read that during the maintenance works traffic from the 鈥楶atenga to Anwara鈥� tube would be diverted through the 鈥楢nwara to Patenga鈥� tube in a controlled manner.
During this period, depending on traffic volume, passengers may have to wait for a minimum of five to a maximum of 10 minutes at the both ends of the tunnel, the release continued.
The authority also mentioned that their routine maintenance work would include jet fan cleaning and road marking.
The BBA also requested cooperation from tunnel users to ensure the safe and effective completion of the maintenance works.
