Afroza Shahin has been appointed as new managing director of TEAM Group following the tragic passing of its founder and former managing director Abdullah hil Rakib.
On 8 June, Abdullah Hil Rakib and his close friend Captain Md Saifuzzaman Guddu, a senior pilot at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, died in a boating accident in Canada.
In a statement on social media on Monday, the board of directors made the announcement of appointing the late MD鈥檚 wife. Being by her husband鈥檚 side, Afroza Shahin has been closely involved in the leadership and strategic direction of TEAM Group for years.
Afroza Shahin is a MBBS graduate from Sir Salimullah Medical College (2001) and later underwent postgraduate training at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Afroza married Abdullah Hil Rakib in 1999.
Since the birth of TEAM Group, she has served as a board director and has also been the managing director of the group鈥檚 lifestyle fashion brand, Twelve Clothing. At a recent board meeting, the couple鈥檚 children 鈥� Mahir Daiyan and Lamia Tabassum 鈥� were also formalised as board members.
