The Border Guard Bangladesh detained two Myanmar nationals along with 1.20 lakh Yaba pills raiding the River Naaf on Wednesday morning.
A team of BGB detained them at about 11:00am on Wednesday as they entered into Bangladesh territory impersonating fishermen to hand over drugs to their partners in Bangladesh, said a BGB press release issued on Thursday.
The detainees are Md Jubair, 20, and Nurul Amin, 22.
BGB 2 Battalion in Teknaf commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Md Ashikur Rahman said that they waited for hours with the two Myanmar nationals to arrest their Bangladeshi collaborators but none was seen at the spot.
‘We have seized 1.20 lakh Yaba pills, a boat, fishing net and packaged goods and polythene from the detainees,’ he added.
