Professor ABM Badruzzaman

Bangladesh Academy of Science, the apex organisation of eminent scientists and technologists, elected Professor ABM Badruzzaman, vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, as Fellow in its 16th council meeting on May 18.

Badruzzaman, professor of civil engineering department at BUET, obtained his PhD degree from the University of Virginia, USA, in 1992, said a press release.


For his special contribution to arsenic contamination of groundwater and prevention models, Badruzzaman received the Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Award in 2012. In 2019, he received the ITEX gold medal, awarded by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society.

Professor Badruzzaman, so far, achieved impressive metrics, including a total impact factor score of 425, with 6073 citations, an H-index of 31, and an I-10 index of 48. He was invited as a visiting professor at MIT and the University of Texas at Austin in the USA.
