Joint forces arrested 45 readymade garment workers on Saturday as they locked in a clash over protesting against job termination at Gazipur鈥檚 Designtex Knitwear Ltd.
According to the police and local people, the factory authority fired 10 workers on June 4, which prompted workers to stage protests locking the factory鈥檚 main gate on Saturday when the factory reopened after Eid holiday.
Joint forces removed the protesters after they broke the locked gate and entered the factory premises when the protesting workers hurled brick chips at the joint forces personnel. 聽
Gazipur industrial area-2 police superintendent AKM Zahirul Islam said that 45 protesters were arrested from the spot.
He mentioned that the situation was brought under control by afternoon.
