BRAC Bank has been honoured with the Best Digital Signature User Award recently.

This accolade recognises BRAC Bank’s pioneering adoption and sustained use of digital signature technology in its procurement operations — demonstrating its commitment to transparency, security and innovation in institutional governance.

Retired Brigadier General Md Amin Akbar, head of general services, BRAC Bank, received the award crest from Fayez Ahmad Taiyeb, special adviser ICT, at the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Summit 2025, organised by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA), under the Ministry of ICT.

The digital signature solution, first introduced in 2022, has transformed the bank’s procurement function — making BRAC Bank the first in the industry to integrate Bangladesh Bank-mandated Digital Certificates in its work order and purchase order protocols.

BRAC bank’s procurement team has been leveraging digital signatures for the past four years, streamlining its processes and ensuring higher levels of verification, confidentiality and efficiency.

The implementation of eSignatures has fortified the bank’s procurement mechanism by preventing forgery, mitigating financial risk, and strengthening vendor accountability. Each work order issued by BRAC Bank carries a digitally embedded signature, guaranteeing authenticity and verifiability.

This initiative marks a key milestone in the Bank’s journey toward a fully digitised, end-to-end eProcurement system — ensuring seamless, secure, and transparent engagements across its entire vendor value chain.
