India has withdrawn from the forthcoming SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship, citing no reason, regional football officials confirmed on Thursday.

The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Kings Arena in Bangladesh in July.

‘They withdrew their participation from the tournament without providing any reason,’ Ayush Khadka, head of media and communication for the South Asian Football Federation, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ·.

Ayush also confirmed that the SAFF accepted the withdrawal of India, who shared the previous edition title with hosts Bangladesh.

Following India’s withdrawal, the tournament will now feature four teams – Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
