Ekattor Television鈥檚 former chief news editor Shakil Ahmed and his wife, former chief reporter and anchor Farzana Rupa, were released on four-hour parole on Wednesday to attend the janaza of Rupa鈥檚 mother in Mymensingh.
The couple, now in separate jails in cases linked to July-August mass uprising, was granted parole from 3:00pm to 7:00pm to attend the funeral of Rupa鈥檚 mother Hosne Ara Begum, 76, scheduled to be held at about 5:30pm at Marakuri High School in Ghagra village.
Deputy inspector general of prisons for Dhaka Division, Jahangir Kabir, confirmed the temporary release to 抖阴精品.
The Ministry of Home Affairs approved the parole following an application submitted by Rupa鈥檚 daughter, Manful Chandrabarty.
Hosne Ara Begum passed away at 7:00pm on Tuesday.
