The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday celebrated the Chand Raat, the night before Eid-ul-Azha, at its Nandan Mancha in the capital.

The event titled Ananda Utsab comprising musical performances and a Mehndi corner enthralled thousands of audience.


The event, patronised by the ministry of cultural affairs, began with traditional Qawwali songs by Samir Qawwal and his team.

Popular Bangladeshi singers including Parsha Mahjabeen Purnee, Atiya Anisha, Angel Noor and Mithun Chakra rendered their popular solo songs at the event.

Band troupe Avash also enthralled the audience with their popular songs and instrumentals.聽

BSA鈥檚 Music, Dance and Recitation Department director Nava Mehjabeen Rahman delivered a welcome speech while cultural affairs secretary Md Mafidur Rahman and BSA acting director general Mohammad Wares Hossain attended the event as a special guest.
