
The medical waste management project was inaugurated in Kushtia on Monday.
The project was inaugurated by the Japan government under the Medical Waste Management Centre project organised by Kushtia municipality and Prism Bangladesh Foundation in Kushtia.
Presided over by Kushtia municipality administrator and Kushtia additional deputy commissioner Md Mizanur Rahman, Kushtia deputy commissioner Md Taufiqur Rahman was present as chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Kushtia police superintendent Md Mizanur Rahman and Kushtia civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Mohammad Kamal Hossain were present as special guests at the ceremony.
Khondaker Anisur Rahman, executive director of Prism Bangladesh Foundation, delivered the welcome speech at the ceremony.
Karasawa Shinju, first secretary of the economic department of the Japan embassy in Dhaka also delivered speeches at the ceremony.
Taufiqur Rahman said that environmental pollution should be reduced by introducing safe waste collection and transportation methods inside and outside healthcare institutions.
