
Leaders of Bangladesh Khetmajur Samiti at a rally in Dhaka on Friday demanded sufficient allocation for the farm labourers in the upcoming budget.
Khetmajur Samiti organised the rally in front of the National Press Club.
President of the organisation Fazlur Rahman demanded the sufficient allocation of development budget for increasing facilities for the farm labourers of the country.
He also demanded the introduction of rationing system for the farm labourers from where they could buy essential commodities in cheaper prices.
Anwar Hossain Reza, executive president of the organisation, said that the interim government had not taken any visible step for the development of the farm labourers.
Arnab Sarker, general secretary of the organisation, announced that the organisation would hold countrywide protest rallies in district and upazila levels on Saturday to press its demands.
Chaired by Fazlur Rahman, the rally was addressed, among others, by its central leaders Kollol Banik, Anirudha Dass Anjan, Sedekur Rahman Shamim and Dipok Sil.
The rally was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
