A full-fledged Shariah-based Islamic banking branch of NCC Bank commenced operations at Muradpur in Chattogram on Thursday.

The branch was inaugurated by NCC Bank chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim at an event presided over by managing director M Shamsul Arefin. 


NCC Bank vice-chairman Abdus Salam, chairman of the executive committee Khairul Alam Chaklader and director Syed Asif Nizamuddin were special guests at the event.

Additional managing director M Khurshed Alam also attended the programme.

EVP and head of Islamic Banking Division Abul Quasem Md Safiullah, EVP and head of Chattogram Region Ali Tarek Parvez, senior managers from different branches, distinguished businesspersons, customers, well-wishers and others also attended the programme. 

NCC Bank chairman Nurun Newaz Salim said, ‘Recognising the socioeconomic significance of Islamic banking in Bangladesh, we have already launched Islamic banking operations, which have garnered positive responses.’

Managing director M Shamsul Arefin said, ‘Within a short span, our full-fledged Islamic branch in Gulshan, Dhaka, and Islamic Banking Windows across 32 branches received overwhelming customer response.’Â
