The country鈥檚 gross domestic product will grow by 3.92 per cent in the outgoing financial year 2024-25, raising the per capita income to $2,820.

This was revealed on Tuesday by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics in its provisional estimate of the economic growth for the eventful financial year marked by a mass uprising and the eventual ouster of the Sheikh Hasina government.聽聽 聽聽聽聽


The GDP growth was calculated to be 4.22 per cent in FY24 and the per capita income at $2728.聽 聽聽聽聽聽

According to the BBS, the industrial sector will grow by 4.34 per cent in the outgoing FY25, compared to 3.5 per cent in FY 24.

The agricultural sector growth will slow down to 1.79 per cent in the outgoing FY25 from 3.3 per cent in FY 24 and that of service sector will decline to 4.51 per cent in FY25 from 5.09 per cent in FY24.

The overall size of the GDP will reach $462 billion at the end of FY25 from $450 billion at FY24-end.
