
Leaders of the Ganosamhati Andolan at a commemoration meeting in Dhaka on Monday said that the role of the party鈥檚 first executive coordinator Abdus Salam would be remembered for a long time.
Ganosamhati Andolan organised the meeting to mark the eighth anniversary of death of Abdus Salam at its central office at Hatirpool.
Chief coordinator of Ganosamhati Andolan Zonayed Saki said that the death of Abdus Salam was a loss for the party.
In his political carrier, he demanded the formation of a democratic constitution dropping the undemocratic provisions of the constitution, Saki mentioned.
Executive coordinator of the party Abul Hassan Rubel said that after the fall of the fascist Awami League rule on August 5 in the past year, scopes had been created for formation of a democratic constitution in the country.
Central leaders of the party Monir Uddin Pappu, Bachchu Bhuiyan, Julhasnayeen Babu, Dipak Kumar Roy, among others, spoke at the meeting.
Earlier, a floral wreath was placed on the portrait of Abdus Salam at party鈥檚 central office.
